The New Bohemia is calling me,
“Come on back, look and see,
might not know where you’re gonna land
but you gotta jump, jump, jump.
That’s right, you gotta jump, jump, jump.”
Every week a different swirl,
now that’s my kind of world,
someday, sure I’ll settle down,
til then I’m gonna run this town,
I’m gonna own this town.
Twice I’ve gone out and spent too much money.
The first bills went walking and rain made the paper runny.
It flowed right out my seams, blue, red, and green,
And all I have when I get home is regen-soaked blue jeans.
They’re wet and sticky
It’s dark and drippy
I got too stoned and my night went too long,
took the short bus, and sang a false song.
Even found a way to pass it along:
taxi driver’s verwirrt and turned it all wrong.
Dark in the park we made our bed
Your folded-up shawl under your head
The grin of your skin and smile on my face
Told of the pleasure that made my heart race
Now I’m alone and you’re not home,
tin pan parade the empty street,
shaking sodom and breaking bottoms
do I go wild or hold the beat?
Do I go wild or hold the beat?
Will we go wild or hold the beat?
In the New Bohemia…
